Stretching across almost half of the North Island's east coast, the Ikaroa-Rāwhiti electorate covers nearly 31,000km2.

Contesting Ikaroa-Rāwhiti are sitting MP Labour Party's Meka Whaitiri, from the MANA Movement Te Hamua Nikora, representing the Māori Party is Marama Fox, and for the Greens Henare Kani.

Native Affairs reporter Jodi Ihaka has been on a road trip through Ikaroa-Rāwhiti, starting in Ngāti Kahungunu rohe.

She asks the candidates what they are going to do to stop the large number of Māori moving to Australia looking for a better life.
