Hei Manaaki Ngā Kaumātua Charitable Trust in Waipareira called together elderly groups and supporters from the Auckland region to discuss issues and concerns, such as health and well-being and housing is also a concern for many elderly.

Who else can talk with authority about the pressures put on today's elderly living in the city except the elderly themselves and who better to find solutions?

Whetu Tipiwai from Hei Manaaki o Ngā Kaumātua Charitable Trust says, “We're here to listen to the concerns and to discuss together how we can advance and help each other.”

There are a number of concerns for city elderly, especially housing.

Waipareira Trust's CEO says whatever it takes to fulfil the dreams of the elderly, "Progressively Act in Unity" to achieve.

John Tamihere says, “That's what we do here at Waipareira, act in unity to care for our elders.”
