More than 90,000 fans from all across NZ and Australia have flocked to Eden Park for Day One of the NRL Auckland Nines.

140-strong league fans from Tūrangawaewae, Taniwharau and Ngāruawāhia Panthers rugby league clubs from the Waikato region have come together to enjoy the competition with a few members of the group even travelling over from Wollongong, Australia.

Organisers of the group say it's another opportunity to meet NRL superstars.

According to Wynae Tukere, “We're all passionate about Kīngitanga too and it's another reason why we come together as a whānau.  No matter what colours you wear, and no matter what anyone says, it's all about Tūrangawaewae.”

Although they are here as one group, some have come to see the likes of the Warriors, Bulldogs and Broncos play.  This lot will be ready for another day of action-packed rugby league tomorrow.
