Manukau's Vodafone Events Centre was at full capacity last night with a sold-out show for the Auckland Regional Hip Hop Qualifier.

26 crews battled it out to be crowned Auckland's best hip hop dance crew.

Taking it out in the junior division was Bubblegum from Penrose. In the Vasity section, the Palace Dance Studio did it again with Sorority coming in first place.

Maddie Barnett from Sorority says, “Since we have two Vasity crews, our other Vasity crew really helps and drives us to motivate us to be a better crew.”

For the Adults section, first time crew Malitia from Fresh Movement came out on top.

According to Shakiah Perez, “I am so happy right now, because our dance company Fresh Movement won the adults division with Malitia, our Vasity crew got to finals and so did our juniors.”

20 crews from the Auckland regional have made it into this year's National competition held in May.
