A documentary film showcasing the lifestyle of whānau living in the Matahī valley in the Urewera is currently being edited by its creators under the LOADING DOCS concept, which provides funding to assist in the creation and distribution of NZ short film documentaries.

Tim believed there was a need for more NZ documentary films to be made which inspired him to tackle his next project.

According to Tim Worall, “Then the idea came to us to go back to the valley and showcase our families who keep the home fires burning.”

Tim’s short documentary, ‘The Road to Whakarae’ is a film which looks at a unique song known to the locals as The Road to Whakarae.

The Road to Whakarae is in post-production and will be available to view later on in the year.
