Native Affairs - Pita Paraone

By Native Affairs

As the North farewells one of its MPs, another has just been returned to Parliament.

Ngāpuhi MP Pita Paraone was first elected to Parliament as a New Zealand First MP in 2002 before losing his seat in 2008 when his party failed to make the 5% threshold.

Now at number 8 on the New Zealand First list, Pita Paraone along with his former colleague Ron Mark are back in the bear pit and he joined Mihingarangi from Wellington.
