Waka Ama New Zealand has a new major sponsor.
It's Te Wānganga o Aotearoa (TWoA) which has played a big part in the Waka Ama community. The new partnership allows the institution to contribute to the development of the sport in Aotearoa.
Since 2009 TWoA has offered Waka Ama courses which have grown in popularity.
Wānanga Marketing Chief Hone Paul says, “As the programme has grown, so too has the sport in New Zealand, with Waka Ama now the fastest growing water sport in the country.”
Waka Ama New Zealand CEO, Lara Collins says, “Te Wānanga o Aotearoa and Waka Ama New Zealand have a lot in common. We share similar values, we are well connected in communities throughout Aotearoa and we share a passion for Waka Ama. Together we can work to achieve mutual goals and further grow and develop the sport of Waka Ama.”
The partnership will be launched at the Waka Ama Sprint Nationals at Lake Karapiro next week.
