Today we reflect on the joy of Dr Ngapo and Dr Pimia Wehi and their dedication to Māori Performing Arts.
This story was filmed with the beautiful couple on New Year’s Day in 2011.
Reporter Taroi Black, lunched with them at their Auckland home in Henderson.
The occasion was to celebrate their many achievements and awards through the years.
“They were funny. They laughed a lot and they weren’t afraid to speak their minds. But what I remember most, is that he held her hand and never let go,” says Taroi.
E te koroua e Ngapo, ngā mihi nui ki a koe me tō whānau mō tō koutou tautoko i a mātou te whānau o Te Kāea, o Whakaata Māori i ngā tau maha kua hipa.
