Well-wishes are pouring in from around Aotearoa after the news of King Tūheitia's kidney transplant surgery which is scheduled for this week.  Te Kāea spoke exclusively with the king’s private secretary, Te Rangihīroa Whakaruru, yesterday.  See the extended interview here. 

The Kaipara tradgedy, which has claimed seven lives with one man still missing, has refocused the nation on the importance of lifejackets when out on the water.  This evening Te Kāea will talk to the CEO of WaterSafe and lifejacket manufacturers about current attitudes and legislation around water safety.

And the Attitude Awards gala evening gets underway this evening in Auckland.  Rodney Bell (Ngāti Maniapoto) is a finalist for the Artistic Achievement Award.
