Presbyterian Support delivers (FDL) services

By Heeni Brown

Through its Family Works services, Presbyterian Support has assisted 15,000 children and their families, and now they've been given the right to provide services to families who are going through separation.

With the Family Court reform, the Ministry of Justice endorsed a service that would ease the process for families going through simple issues, so FDR (Finical Dispute Resolution) is a way to sort issues like day-to-day care and choosing a school.

Before the introduction of FDR, some families were made to wait 12 months for settlement. Now, the resolution process is expected to be faster than that.

Presbyterian Support has just started dealing with families who are going through issues, and it's expected that those regarding broken families throughout NZ will be resolved at home instead of in court.
