PM extends invitation to anti-mining hikoi member

The Prime Minister has extended an invitation to a member of the anti-mining hikoi contingent to travel to Wellington for an in depth discussion on the issues they have raised.

Joel Bristow, a member of the hapū led hikoi was asked to discuss the issues further by John Key during formalities at Te Tii following the pōhiri.

Prior to the PM’s invitation, Joel Bristow stood inside the whare and urged the Government to investigate alternatives to mining in its efforts to boost New Zealand’s economy.

Hapū members were joined by a range of supporters today flanking John Keys contingent during the pōhiri.
