Over 10,000 people attend Turkey Anzac service

By Dean Nathan

While Anzac services and commemorations have almost wrapped up around Aotearoa, Anzac Day has just started for 10,000 or more people at Gallipoli. The crowds slept at the grounds overnight snuggled in blankets.

At around 8.30am in Turkey, the official commemorations had just begun.

Allied forces tried to take to this piece of ground but were unsuccessful. It was beautiful last night with thousands at Anzac Cove.

There were tears and emotions but this is the place where the allies landed 100 years ago.

Who would have thought that this would be their final resting place.
