Native Affairs looks into whānau who are struggling to survive in Australia as a result of legislation that bans New Zealanders from receiving any of the support or benefits available to all other Australian tax-payers.

The changes to the Australian Social Security Act were passed in 2001 when Labour was still in government.

So to discuss this issue, Mihingarangi Forbes spoke to the former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Phil Goff.
