Native Affairs reporter, Iulia Leilua, has been awarded Best Pacific Female Media Personality.
Iulia, Ngāti Hāua, Ngāti Hekeāwai and Samoan, has been a committed team member of Māori Television’s current affairs since 2009 as well as a firm supporter of Pacific Radio News.
She was honoured by the Pacific Island Media Association which recognises those who are the best at what they do.
"Anyone who knows Iulia Leilua knows of her true Pacific personality - friendly, accommodating and very humble. Her media mahi speaks volumes,” said PIMA chair, Will 'Ilolahia.
“It’s very appropriate on PIMA's 15th year we join those that nominated and voted for her to acknowledge one of PIMA'S founders with this award. Iulia is truly a sister to all in media whether its Pacific (including Maori) or mainstream,” he said.
Iulia (third from left in image attached) was presented with her award at a special evening surrounded by colleagues from the Māori Television newsroom.
