Native Affairs - A Hole Lot Of Hōhā

You might remember over the Summer a highly-publicised stoush between the Māori owners of an iconic Bay of Island's landmark Motu Kōkako and local tourist operators who use it without paying anything.

It seems everyone had an opinion, even property tycoon Bob Jones publicly queried the whakapapa of some of the owners and implored them, "If you want money, then work for it, if only out of respect for the traditional cultural values of your respective English ancestors."

Native Affairs reporter Adrian Stevanon travelled to the North to speak to those at the centre of the stoush.
