Native Affairs - Hard to Stomach

Stomach cancer is the second most deadliest form of the disease worldwide with around 800,000 new cases a year.

It's not that common in NZ ranking as our fifth biggest cancer killer but Māori and Pacific Islanders are at greater risk of getting it and have higher death rates than anyone else.

A genetic link to the cancer has been found in Māori, Ruwani Perera has one family's story of the life-changing lengths they've gone to in order to win the battle against cancer.
