The country is slowly coming out of a recession and yet you wouldn't know it from the profits some of the major banks are generating.

Over two billion dollars was made for the 2011 calendar year, Auckland lawyer Andrew Hooker alleges these margins are made in part by preying on the poor.

Hooker along with Australian litigation specialists - Slater & Gordon will tomorrow file proceedings in what is being touted as New Zealand's biggest ever class action and they're doing it with the support of 24 thousand kiwis. Billie Jo Hohepa-Ropiha with this story.
