Man accused of murdering George Taiaroa pleads not guilty

The man accused of murdering George Taiaroa has pleaded not guilty this morning. 

Quinton Paul Winders aged 45 appeared in the High Court in Rotorua and has now been remanded in custody.

On 19 March, 2013, Taiaroa was killed while working at a road construction site in Atiamuri.

Last month, Winders was arrested without incident at an address in Stratford and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

His trial date is set to start on August 8 and will go for four weeks. A case review will also take place on March 2.
