Fashion brands from across the globe are in for a surprise as Māori fashion designer, Kharl Wirepa sets up for a day of glitz and glamour.
"This is going to be my best work yet, and I will be driven in on a Maserati too."
The designer who speaks about "fabulosity" will present his eight models in royal ball gowns made out of hand embellished Spanish fabrics.
Wirepa says, “It's all about royalty this year, this collection has taken me months to do, it's crazy."
Miss World New Zealand, Te Rua Wallace is one of the eight Māori models from Rotorua who will feature on the catwalk today. "I am doing it - all glam everything."
His fashion PR and TV presenter, Karin Horen told Te Kāea, "the who's who will be there," such as New Zealand model and television host Colin Mathura-Jeffree.”
"Kharl is going to dress me like J-Lo and everyone should turn up dressed," she said.
After showcasing his other collections of couture at Kiingi Tuheitia’s corronation, it is "fitting" that the runway will also feature diamonds and tiara's.”
His show starts at 12pm at the ANZ Viaduct Event Centre.
