Te Matatini will see four groups from the Aotea region in Christchurch next year for the national kapa haka competition. 13 groups competed, but only one took out the title of the top group of Aotea.
With voices like an angel's, Te Reanga Mōrehu o Rātana are the overall champions, securing the top spot of the competition.
Their bracket was inspired by their faith and the teachings of Tahupōtiki Wiremu Rātana.
Coming in at second place was Waitara-based group, Ngā Purapura o Te Taihauāuru.
Making their ninth appearance at the regionals, Te Matapihi took third place.
Fourth and final spot of the Aotea regionals went to Tūtū Kā'ika.
