A press conference held this morning by Wellington Officials has reported that 4 minor casualties have resulted following the major earthquake that hit the area yesterday afternoon and aftershocks have continued throughout the night. The public have also been advised to stay away from the Wellington CBD where they say the majority of the damage  occurred and is still being assessed.

Officials have advised those who work in the CBD to contact their employers to make arrangements  of working from home. Victoria and Massey University campuses will remain closed and certain streets in the CBD are partly cordoned off as there are concerns of falling debris and broken glass.
