A young Māori law academic is one of 84 recipients of this years Fulbright New Zealand scholarships.
Kiri Toki from Great Barrier Island will attend Harvard University to complete her Masters degree specialising in commercial and indigenous legal issues.
The recipients were celebrated in a special ceremony on Monday night, where Māori recipients were also in attendance.
Among them is another law scholar, Kingi Snelgar, who will also attend Harvard to complete his Masters degree in Law specialising in criminology and indigenous issues.
The Fulbright New Zealand programme promotes mutual understanding between New Zealand and the United States through educational and cultural exchange. Kiri Toki says it's a dream come true.
