Greens want free school lunches and after-school care for decile 1-4 schools

By Wepiha Te Kanawa

The Green Party has launched their election year by announcing a $90mil package to focus on children's education.

While National's focus is also on the education sector, the Greens have a completely different approach.

The Greens' policies consist of free after-school programmes, a nation lunch fund and dedicated school nurses for all decile 1-4 schools.

Another focus for the Greens is keeping deep sea oil drilling off our shores and Metiria Turei says she supports any iwi who thinks the same.

Over the next few months, we'll see whether these new policies will go down a treat for NZers.
