Mō ngā tau 12 kua toa whakaihuwaka te tira netipōro Ōtane Force i te puku o te Te Matau a Māui. He tira uaua rawa te turaki, otira, ko tā rātou e whai nei ko te taitara 13 hei te pō āpōpō. Engari ko te whānau te take i angitū ai rātou.

He taone iti e whakakanohitia ana e rātou, engari he manawa tītī ō rātou.

Hei tā te kaiako matua a Annemarie Kupa, “It comes down to our team culture and through the years we've had good team spirit and we're from a beautiful small town called Ōtane.”

He tekau mā rua tau rātou e tū toa ana, he kore hinganga hoki i tēnei tau tākaro, he ono tekau mā iwa ki te rua tekau mā whā ngā tatau o tā rātou wikitoria nui.

E ai ki a Treyana Faulkner no te kapa Ōtane Force, “Losing is not even in our vocabulary haha, no, we're in it to win it and we're going to give it our all and leave it all on the court.”

Ko te ngoi o te tira, ka kōkiritia e ngā tuahine tokotoru o te whānau Kupa.

“So myself and Annemarie and Bec decided that that's what we were going to do and go back to Ōtane and just try and build the team up from there and get it up into the first division which is what we've done,” hei tā Tammy Kupa.

“I've always loved playing for this team being alongside my sisters, my older sisters I've watched them since I was 6 or 7 so being able to play with them is awesome,” hei tā Rebecca Kupa.

He whiringa toa motuhake āpōpō, ka tākaro a māmā Anne Marie rāua ko tāna tamāhine. Hei te pō āpōpō ka rangona te wairua Ōtane ki te papa tākaro, a, ko te whai, kia pupuri tonu i te taitara toa.
