E ai ki a Mr Kaihe-Katterns (Ngāpuhi), “There are no Māori on the board and that's a big concern to me. I want to sit on the board as a spokesperson for all Māori of Manurewa, and a voice for the youth, because there are a lot in the area.”

Tōna rua tekau mā rima ōrau ngāi Māori e noho ana ki Manurewa.  Ko ngā wai paruparu o te Mānukanuka o Hotorua, tētehi āwangawanga nui mō Tanya.  Ka hoki mahara ia i a ia e tamariki ana, tē tāea te kaukau.

Hei tā Ms Kaihe, “My dad being a prorific seafood lover would take us all the way over to maraetai, so we could get our kaimoana.  And we used to think why can't we get it here, so those were the questions we asked when we were little. Now I'm a grandmother now, and I'm wanting to know why has that not improved?”

E rua tekau mā toru ngā kaiwakataetae e whāia ana ngā turu e waru i te poari ā hapori o Manurewa.  Tokoono o rātou he Māori.  Ko te whakahau a Tanya rāua ko Harley

“Our people don't vote, our people feel a bit of hopelessness around having any decision making powers, and so that's why we've put our hand up, we want to see if we can change that.”

Ka kapia te wā tuku pōti ā pouka ā te Rāhoroi nei, te tuawaru o Oketopa, hei te pōutūtanga o te rā.  E aki ana te marea kia tukuna ā rātou pōti mā te pouka poutāpeta ā te Taite nei.
