Mea Whakauru

  • 125g softened butter
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • Half cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of plain flour
  • 1 cup of rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Method

  1. Cream butter and sugar, golden syrup until pale.
  2. Sift flour and baking powder. 
  3. Add all ingredients and mix well. 
  4. Roll into balls on a greased tray.
  5. Flatten with a fork.
  6. Bake at 180C for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
