Māori Television Documentary Catches Up With Whānau

In the year 2000, four children were welcomed into four families who shared their dreams, fears and hopes for their babies in WHĀNAU, a special documentary project that set out to get a glimpse of what it means to be Māori in the new millennium. 
Now in WHĀNAU 2014, which screens at 9.30pm on Monday, October 13 on Māori Television, we meet these children again as they embark on the next stage in their lives.

Strategic Direction and Proposal Supported

A proposal for the strategic alignment of Māori Television has received the support of the organization’s Māori and Crown stakeholders.

Chief Executive Paora Maxwell said support for the proposal was received following a briefing on Friday.

Mr Maxwell said stakeholders expressed their support for the strategic direction and the principles of the proposal, in particular its intent for a multi-media approach to the future and also a refreshed focus on Māori language and culture.

NEW DOCO ON MĀORI TELEVISION EXAMINES SOCIAL HOUSING INITIATIVES

A new documentary to air on Māori Television in the lead-up to the election will address the reality of low income housing in this country in a climate of state gentrification and privatisation.
WHARE TAPA WHĀ, (loosely translated as these four walls), will screen on Monday, September 15 at 9.30pm.
