Māori Television’s Anzac Coverage Wins People’s Choice Award

Māori Television’s Anzac Coverage Wins People’s Choice Award.

Māori Television has taken out two awards in the annual TV Guide Best on the Box Awards announced today.

The channel’s 2014 Anzac Day coverage has been voted Best Special Event and CODE presenter Jenny-May Coffin took out the award for Best Presenter, Sport in the People’s Choice TV Awards.

Anzac producer Colin McRae said he is thrilled with the win. “We are delighted and would like to thank everyone who supported us.

“We have another great day planned for this year so, as Frank Sinatra would say, “Start spreading the news!”

This year will be the 10th year Māori Television will dedicate its April 25 schedule to Anzac Day. Coverage will start with the Dawn Parade and Service at the Auckland Domain and will run throughout the day with a great line-up of documentaries and special coverage.

The TV Guide Best on the Box Awards give the NZ public a real opportunity to have their say about who they would invite into their living rooms by rewarding their favourite stars with their personal tick of approval, says editor, Julie Eley.

“There’s no other long-running TV award similar to Best on the Box in New Zealand, and it is obvious Kiwis relish the chance to share their opinions.”
