Māori Television Celebrates Matariki

Monday June 17, 2013

The rising of the Matariki star constellation announces the Māori New Year and is a time for whānau and friends to come together. And next weekend, Māori Television will celebrate our very own rising stars in the community with MATARIKI MAGIC, a two-hour spectacular that will be screened live from the Vodafone Events Centre in Manukau from 7.30pm.

Hosted by Mātai Smith, Stacey Morrison and Northland teen Ezekiel Raui, MATARIKI MAGIC is a celebration of New Zealand’s future stars who are aged 18 or younger.

The live show will feature 10 of the country’s rising stars as well as performances by Kiwi acts including musician Don McGlashan, boy band Titanium and the Bubblegum Dance Crew.

Featuring young entertainers, dancers, musicians, sports people, kapa haka stars, this is an opportunity for the country to see our talented youth in a live stage show.

Tune in to MATARIKI MAGIC on at 7.30pm on Saturday, June 22 on Māori Television.
