The Battle For Triple K AM Heats up in Māori Television Mockumentary

An all-new new mockumentary, RADIO KUKA, goes to air on Maori Television on Friday, November 7, taking viewers behind the scenes of the inappropriately named Māori radio station Triple K AM. The half hour comedy pilot kicks off as an arm wrestle for control of the station erupts between Triple K AM owner Marire Kuka and the former CEO, Orlando Stewart. Kuka and Stewart are at loggerheads after a guest spot from Pio Terei sees interest in the station spike and advertisers get on board. Realising he’s still “technically” the owner of the station Orlando decides to take control again. But Marire and her trusty team of lieutenants at the station, Tuhoe and Katarina, won’t take Orlando’s hostile takeover lying down. As the battle over who owns the station intensifies, nothing is sacred and neither side is prepared to back down. A withering and hilarious treatise on radio, race relations and te reo, RADIO KUKA is not for the fainthearted. The boundaries of good taste are often pushed to the limits – or beyond. Internet hacking! Transgender sex parties and Pio Terei. Will anyone survive with their reputations intact?

Find out on the pilot episode of RADIO KUKA on Friday November 7 at 9.30pm.
